Hoppy Valentine’s Day!
Respectfully Requesting Your Support
Remember the smile that came across your face when you read about Marylin Mansdorf and her bunnies? Her uplifting story of the generations of wild cottontails that have been visiting her for seven years is heartwarming. But there is more to her story.
She is running out of money to maintain the little sanctuary that she, her home, and her garden have become for the wild cottontails. Beyond her own joy with the bunnies, she truly wants to spread the message of the joy of human contact with wildness through one book already published and four other books waiting for enough money to publish them. Upon seeing some of her hundreds of photos, one biology professor confirmed that they are totally unique because they clearly show not just bunnies playing, but true interspecies communications.
Marylin, like Jane Goodall, has an intuitive gift to relate to wildness. If it were only love and commitment, she has more than enough, but Marylin needs sponsors, grants, and investors to make Bunny Books Inc. well-known.
Contact Marylin at marylin@bunnybooksinc.com if you would like to provide some support to her mission, or click Donate to make a Paypal-secure contribution. She and the wild bunnies appreciate your support!

OC Register Intrigued By “The Bunny Whisperer”
We are pleased to announce some positive press from the OC Register! The Register’s Science editor, M. Pat Brennan, posted an article yesterday (12/20/11) that he wrote in response to the buzz growing around the author’s extraordinary friendship with her wild animal neighbors.

‘They play on toy cars, a doll house, tiny tables and chairs; they hop into the livingroom and up the steps to the bedroom, their cottontails bouncing; and they return, year after year, to be captured on camera by Orange County’s own “bunny whisperer.”’

Give Me Back That Carrot, Santa!

What’s that flying down the chimney? It’s Santa Claus! He jumps out of the fireplace, stuffs the Christmas tree with gifts, eats a handful of cookies, and steps outside to enjoy a short rest. Peering curiously from behind a bush, Busy Bunny surveys Santa’s sleigh and spots the gift he has been good for all year long: a giant carrot! Santa Claus spots Bunny and sees him eyeing the carrot. He takes it out of the sleigh and reads the tag…”That’s funny,” he mutters. He hands the carrot slowly to Busy Bunny — and halts. “There must be a mix-up, Busy Bunny. This isn’t your carrot — it’s the reindeers’ treat. If you eat this carrot, by golly, you’d be able to fly!”
Slowly he brings the carrot back to his sleigh, and suddenly Busy Bunny hops forward mightily. “Santa Claus, I’ve been good all year. Please give me back that carrot!”
Santa pauses. “Well, since you said please…”
Did Santa give Busy Bunny a magic carrot? Can rabbits fly? The world may never know…
Busy Bunny wishes you the happiest of holidays!
Everybunny give thanks!
